Serie A president on Berlusconi: “He led Italian football to the top of Europe”
Serie A president Lorenzo Cassini has offered his condolences on the death of historic AC Milan leaders Silvio Berlusconi.
Silvio Berlusconi died on Monday (December 6th) at the age of 86. The death of AC Milan’s historic leaders sparked grief across world football.
The president Serie A’s Lorenzo Cassini said goodbye to the Cavaliere: “President Berlusconi was the absolute protagonist of football for decades. He made history in the sport, changing its paradigms and always innovating, taking Italian football to the top of Europe and the world. Serie A shares the pain of his family and all” the Italians”.
The Serie A announcement went on to say: “With 29 trophies won, he is the most successful president in the history of Italian football, one of the most successful of all time.
In more than thirty years in the football world, Berlusconi has been able to leave an indelible mark and build teams that are remembered in the collective memory and in international history not only for the trophies, but above all for the ability to inspire through the beautiful game stayed and the performances of the stadium teams are a hallmark of his presidency.”
