Capello: “Berlusconi is a genius, I would compare him to Messi”
Fabio Capello has spoken fondly of Silvio Berlusconi, with whom he shared a blast on the Milan bench in the 1990s, with the former coach comparing the legendary ‘Kavalier’ to Lionel Messi.
Fabio Capello has coached great teams throughout his coaching career, but the one with which he has associated his name with the greatest success is Milan, where he was based at “San Siro” for five years (1991-1996) and with den Rossoneri 4 Italian celebrated championships, 3 Italian Super Cups, 1 Champions League and 1 European Super Cup.
The man he worked with during this period was of course Silvio Berlusconi, who broke through for the Milanese in his 31 years at the helm, with ‘Don Fabio’ idolizing the legendary ‘Kavalier’ when asked to think about him to speak of his death was 86 years old on Monday morning.
“I would describe Silvio Berlusconi as a midfielder with imagination. There are those who work, but they have the imagination and the quality to pass the ball properly.”
He was a genius so I would compare him to Lionel Messi. My relationship with Berlusconi was wonderful. In the five years that I was at the helm, he never interfered in tactical matters.
I was very lucky to meet him. It is fortunate to meet a person who can give you something special, and something special that only geniuses can give.”emphasized Fabio Capello in an interview with the television channel “TG5”.
