Ibrahimovic: ‘You can’t get the Golden Ball if you have your opinion’
Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t managed to win the Golden Ball in his long career on the field and the reason, as he pointed out to Bild, is his straightness.
It is not uncommon for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to be the focus of discussions for reasons other than his performance on the pitch.
The 40-year-old’s explosive nature combined with his often scathing comments have put him in a difficult position. As he emphasized in his interview with Deutsche Bild, the Golden Ball never landed in his own hands.
However, the Milan striker made it clear that he’s not missing anything because whether he wins the precious award or not, it wouldn’t make him a better footballer.
“The Golden Ball is a political award. He wants Mr Perfect. If you speak your mind, you’ll never get those awards. But that doesn’t change anything for me. It doesn’t make me better or worse.” characteristically backed the Swedish star.
