Napoli announced the signing of Garcia as Spalletti’s replacement
Rudy Garcia has succeeded Luciano Spalletti at the Napoli bench, it was announced Thursday night.
THE Rudy Garcia is an answer to the question of Luciano Spalletti’s successor on the Napoli bench. Announced by the Italian champions on Thursday night, the French coach returns to Serie A after eight years.
Partenopei owner Aurelio de Laurentiis announced the hiring in a tweet, writing: “I am pleased to announce that Mr Rudi Garcia, after meeting and getting to know him over the last ten days, will be the new Napoli coach. Welcome and good luck.”
Garcia was Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nasr manager last season until his sacking in mid-April. In his home country, he made his mark at the age of five with Lille, who he also led to the title in 2010-2011.
In the summer of 2013, he was tested abroad for the first time and took over the management of the Roma. After 2.5 years and in the course of a change of ownership, he left the company and returned to Marseille in October 2016. He stayed until the end of the 2018–2019 season and reached the 2017–2018 Europa League final.
In October 2019 he took charge of Lyon, which he left in May 2021 to take charge of the Saudi Arabian club in June 2022.
