The Empoli keeper takes in a Ukrainian refugee with her child

A very kind gesture was made by Guglielmo Vicario when the caretaker of Empoli opened the door of his house and welcomed a Ukrainian refugee woman with her 8-year-old child.

As the war in Ukraine continues following the Russian invasion of the neighboring country in the early hours of February 24, the need for solidarity with a troubled people like Ukraine continues to grow.

Such a beautiful gesture, small and big at the same time, belongs to Guglielmo Vicario when the Empoli goalkeeper welcomed a woman with her 8-year-old child to his home in Udine (his hometown) a few days ago.

The woman came to Italy as a refugee from Dnipro after the outbreak of war, while the father of the family was left at home to fight.

According to Italian website Sportmediaset, the 25-year-old goalkeeper personally greeted the family, mother Hannah and 8-year-old Milan while presenting the child with a number 13 T-shirt.

He also pledged to cover all the costs of enrolling in a football school in order to achieve his dream of playing football away from the horrors of war.
