According to Romano, Inter agree a two-year deal with Athpilicueta
Chelsea have Cesar Athpilicueta under contract until 2024 but are letting him go. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Spanish defender has agreed a two-year deal with Inter Milan.
Thesar Athpilicueta is the longest-serving player in Chelsea’s current squad, having been a member of the Blues since 2012, but it’s quite possible that this unique relationship between the two sides has come to an end.
That’s what Fabrizio Romano claims. The Italian journalist reports that the Spain international has a contract with the Londoners until 2024 and that the west London club are ready to let him go.
“There has always been a respectful relationship between the player and the London club”he says in a corresponding tweet, revealing that Athpilikueta is already turning a blind eye to the next phase of his career.
That will be Inter, with Romano reporting that the player has already agreed a deal with the Italian Cup winners on a two-year deal following his sacking from Chelsea.
