Cesny: “I was afraid I would die in the Sporting game”
Wojciech Szczesny experienced a difficult moment last season when he had to pull out of the game against Sporting due to chest pain. The Poland Juventus goalkeeper admitted in an interview that he feared for his life.
Wojciech Szczesny was one of Juventus’ “strongest moments” last season, coming at home against Sporting in the Europa League quarter-finals.
Specifically, just before the end of the first part of the game, when the Polish goalkeeper felt discomfort in his chest and was forced to leave with the help of his teammates. The pain subsided a little later, but he himself did not live to forget the fear he felt, although several months have passed since then.
“I really thought I was going to die, it was scary. After passing a teammate, I felt like my heart would explode in my chest.”
During a corner I told Milik that I was bad, but the opponents had already taken it. The chest pains were excruciating and even today I don’t know what happened, maybe there was something wrong with the chest or the spine.” Sessny emphasized in an interview with “Canal Plus Sport Polonia” and then speak in the best terms about Massimo Allegri.
“We’re very friends, I respect him because he can tell me things that nobody else would tell me. We’ve also been neighbors since I’ve been in Turin, so I’d say he’s a good friend of mine.”
When asked to speak about his international career and when he will retire, he said: “My retirement from the Polish national team is approaching, I’ve played more than I expected.”
I’ll stop when I feel like I can’t give 100%, but I’ll say it when it happens because right now I don’t have the slightest desire to say goodbye.”
