Ibrahimovic: “Tonali has grown a lot in Milan, he’s ready for the Premier League”

Sandro Tonali is on the verge of a Premier League move to Newcastle after England sensationally opted for AC Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he is now in a position to succeed.

His presence in Milan in recent years after moving from Brescia has been a lesson in football for Sandro Tonali. The Italian midfielder had many different performances and was instrumental in his side being crowned Italian champions and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

He is now counting down to resuming his career at Newcastle, who have made a €70m offer to Milan for him. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was asked about his former teammate and gave his blessing ahead of a move to Magpies

“If he’s ready for the Premier League. I think that’s him. It’s definitely up to him. I made sure he had the right attitude to win and he won.”

He grew up a lot in Milan, has a lot of responsibility and can still get better. In England he will be successful”stressed the veteran striker, who when asked if there will be a friendly in his honor once he hangs up his boots, said:

“No, I’ve decided to quit, but I haven’t thought about anything like that. We’ll take our time to see what happens, we have time, there’s no need to rush.”
