Milan loses Guler because of the crazy commission his father asked for
AC Milan have been determined to honor Fenerbahce’s Arda Güler release clause, but the Turkish midfielder’s case appears to have been sidelined due to his father’s unreasonable demands.
Milan have ‘struck’ on many different fronts in the last 24 hours (Romero, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek are players they are in advanced talks with) and one of the players they are targeting ahead of the new season is Arda Guler.
The reason lies in the highly talented Turkish midfielder as the Rossoneri are aware that Fenerbahce have imposed a €17.5m release clause on the player but are still asking the Turkish club to negotiate with him.
This fact showed the willingness of the Milanese to pay this amount, but it seems that they reckoned without the hotelier, who in this particular case is Guler’s father, who is also his manager.
As revealed by Italian website Sportmediaset, the player’s father interposed himself between the two sides, creating a financial rift separating them after demanding a €20m commission on the deal.
Something that froze the club managers as in such a case they would have to allocate at least 37.5 million euros (not counting the player’s case). The report from Italy states that Guler has left the club since they found out about his father’s sudden financial claims.
