Frosinone is eager to strike a deal with Papastathopoulos
After 12 years, Sokratis Papastathopoulos is close to returning to the campionato and Dzaluca Di Marzio revealed Frosinone is in contact to sign the 35-year-old centre-back.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos said goodbye to Olympiacos a few days ago after the cooperation between the two sides was finalized and is now looking for the next step in his career, which is expected to be in Italy.
And that’s because Frosinone, who have been promoted to Serie A this year, are making efforts to include him in their squad, as revealed by Gianluca Di Marzio, stressing that ‘Sokratis’ is the man “strong defender” which the team’s sporting director Angelozzi recently spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.
It is noted that if an agreement is reached, the veteran stopper will return to Italy after 12 years and Frosinone will become the third team of his career from the neighboring country after his spells in Genoa and Milan.
