Nikolaou: ‘I want to play in the Champions League again, like at Olympiakos’
Dimitris Nikolaou spoke to Tuttosport about his career in Spezia, the Greek national team, as well as his goal of playing in the Champions League again.
Dimitris Nikolaou gave an interview to Italian newspaper Tuttosport. The Spezia player referred to his career choice and what he encountered in his team.
“Spezia was an interesting choice because it allowed me to play differently than in Empoli. Growing up in a calm environment and here I found it, despite the difficulties that arose.” initially mentioned.
He then explained that he was ready to wear the Greece national team shirt, which he found on the bench against Montenegro: “I don’t know the coach, I’m waiting for the moment and I’m ready to wear the jersey.”
Finally, he talked about his goal to play in the Champions League like he did at Olympiakos: “There are still seven games to enjoy and we need to win at least two or three games. Now there are quality strikers like Lautaro, Dzeko, Imobile, Insigne, Osimien and Zapata. As for my future, I would like to play.” back in the Champions League like at Olympiakos”.
Dimitris Nikolaou has made 30 appearances in all competitions this year while scoring once in the Italian Cup.
