Romelu Lukaku arrived in Rome on a private jet to undergo a medical exam and sign a Roma contract. 5,000 Giallorossi fans at Campino Airport gave the Belgian striker a warm welcome.
After Inter, for which he served two different tenures (2019-2021 as a regular transfer and last year on loan), Romelu Lukaku is waiting to wear the shirt of another Italian team: Roma.
The Romans agreed with Chelsea on their one-year loan of 5,800,000 euros and on Tuesday evening (29.8.) the 30-year-old Belgium international, accompanied by Chelsea on a private jet from Brussels, met in Rome Roma President Dan Friedkin and his son Ryan, as well as the club’s CEO, Lina Sulukou.
His arrival was just before 19:00 Greek time and at Tsampinos airport he was greeted enthusiastically by around 5,000 Roman fans who wanted to express their love for “Big Rome” but also their impatience to see him in the jersey of see their favorite team.
Lukaku greeted an excited crowd and got into a waiting car at the airport. Italian media reported that on Wednesday (30/8) he will undergo a medical before signing his contract with the Giallorossi, which will net him an amount of 7,500,000 euros in the new season.
