Mertens’ goal on the pitch and his baby concert in the stands of “Maradona”
Driss Mertens scored his first goal for Napoli since becoming a father, with his newborn son Ciro Romeo in the stands of “Diego Armando Maradona” in a special moment for the Partenopei.
Driss Mertens had some great moments on the pitch, most notably with the Napoli shirt, but the high point of his life came just before the end of March when he gave birth to his child.
The name of this Ciro Romeo seems to have entered the passion for football early on, as the Belgian striker’s wife, Kat Kerkoffs, took him to “Diego Armando Maradona” to watch Sunday’s game between Napoli and F live for the 32nd series A
The result (loss 3-1) angered Partenopei fans after Scudetto hopes froze, but Mertens will have some consolation that a move came and found its way into the net, scoring his first goal with Napoli , since he was a father.
In fact, his partner took care to capture the touching moment, uploading a video of her holding her child in the stands and making the following comment: “Two weeks old and he sees his dad score.”
