Mourinho for Oliveira: ‘His mother told me he would play for me one day’
At a press conference, Jose Mourinho was asked about Sergio Oliveira and if he’d seen a photo 20 years ago of the young Portuguese midfielder asking him for an autograph when he was coach at Porto. He revealed that Oliveira’s mother had told him that one day she would play for him, which eventually happened in Roma.
Former PAOK midfielder Sergio Oliveira has been playing for Roma on loan from Porto since January. The Portuguese midfielder has done exceptionally well at the Roma side, who are already considering a permanent move, according to Italian media.
In an interview, Jose Mourinho was asked by a journalist if he saw a photo 20 years ago when young Oliveira got an autograph from Mourinho, the kite trainer. “Special One” then revealed that Oliveira’s mother had told him that one day she would play for him, which turned out to be true.
“I haven’t seen the photo. When I was in Porto he was a little kid playing street football. I remember his mother telling me that one day he would play for me. I told him to keep training hard“Mourinho said about Oliveira.
