Newcastle have Stracosa back in the spotlight
Thomas Strakosa’s future at Lazio is unknown and Newcastle appear ready to step in and offer him a contract.
THAT Thomas Strakosa has been in Lazio since 2012, when he left Greece and the Academies of Panionios. With a hiatus from a 2015-2016 season when he was loaned out to Salernitana, he is defending the Romans’ homeland, either as a main goalkeeper or as a backup.
This year he counts 25 participations because he did not convince Mauricio Sari of his abilities. The Italy manager has requested a goalkeeper for the summer which will leave the international Albanian free despite the administration wanting to offer him a new contract.
Somewhere there, Newcastle enters the “Bay,” which, as of 2019, had begun “flirting” with his Athens-born son, Fotis Strakosa. Interest had reignited last November and now the English are watching the issue closely with the player being split between the two options.
