Lazio remember Matias Almeida’s incredible goal against Buffon

It’s been exactly 24 years since Matias Almeida’s incredible Lazio goal scored against Buffon in an away game against Parma, and the Eternal City team commemorated it in a special way on Twitter.

Matias Almeida impresses in his first coaching stint at a club on the Old Continent, leading AEK to great moments in Greece and Europe, with the Argentine still boasting a great record as a footballer.

One of the teams where he enjoyed great success in his career was Lazio, which he honored from 1997 to 2000. The Eagles of Rome had not forgotten his contribution to the team during this time and saw Tuesday (September 26th) as a special opportunity to remind their audience of this.

This happened through a video published on their Twitter account in which Lazio presented the goal of Matias Almeida in Parma – Lazio, which took place exactly 24 years ago (09/26/1999) at “Enio Tardini” for Serie A, an unimaginable ball of fire outside the stadium area that had left no room for a reaction to Gianluigi Buffon.

It should be noted that this goal was the only one scored by the Argentine that season (1999-2000), in the final of which he celebrated winning the double with Lazio.
