Sarri angry at UEFA and FIFA: “Crazy calendar, they are throwing the players to the slaughter”
Maurizio Sarri fired in all directions after Lazio’s loss to AC Milan, blaming UEFA, FIFA and Serie A for the stressful schedule.
AC Milan did its duty against Lazio Rome on Saturday (September 30th) and ensured with a 2-0 win at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium that no team will have more points in Serie A at the end of the seventh matchday.
After his team’s defeat, Maurizio Sarri fired in all directions, blaming UEFA, FIFA and the Italian Football Federation for the demanding schedule.
In fact, he used the word “slaughterhouse” to highlight the impact of constant games on footballers.
“Due to this crazy calendar we had to make changes. I am absolutely furious with UEFA, FIFA and Serie A and all the confederations that have done this.
They throw these children into the slaughterhouse and no one does anything. That’s how football is now, you make money and go. But the money doesn’t come into Serie C (3rd league), where you can’t survive as a professional footballer.
