Lautaro outburst: “What kind of people are these people who use the death of a child to get money?”
Lautaro Martinez has lashed out at the family of his late former babysitter in a social media post, accusing them of exploiting their child’s death to extort money.
Lautaro Martinez has been sued by his former babysitter’s family, who accuse him of firing his daughter after learning she was suffering from a terminal illness.
The babysitter had worked for Lautaro’s family for about eight months before she was diagnosed with the disease. As they write in Italy, their contract was terminated “illegally” and ultimately expired in January 2023.
The Milan court ordered that the 26-year-old must compensate the girl’s family. In a post on Instagram, the Argentina international tried to defend himself by accusing the relatives of the deceased of exploiting their deaths to benefit financially.
“I had chosen to remain silent out of respect, but I will not allow my family to be slandered.
We hired a person who was already sick, our lifelong friend. We did a lot for her and her family, paying for the trip, helping to find a hospital bed and assisting with treatment.
We also had to help the family who had to be persuaded to assist their dying daughter.
While their daughter was dying, the family tried to make money from us, tried to take advantage of the situation and after death.
We gave them great help in their time of need and now they are trying to slander us? What kind of people are these who try to use the death of a child to make money?” Tellingly, the Inter striker wrote.
