Andrea Pirlo spoke about his escape from Milan at the beginning of the last decade, putting it down to Allegri’s wish, but also referring to the partnership they had a few years later when they lived together at Juventus.

For the last three years he has been the first coach on the bench and since last summer he has led Sampdoria in Serie B, with Andrea Pirlo still one of the most recognizable figures on European pitches due to his great career as a footballer.

Highlights of this were undoubtedly his appearances at Milan (2001-2011) and Juventus (2011-15), with the “Maestro” being asked in an interview about the end of his collaboration with the Rossoneri in 2011 and focusing on the decision at that time Massimiliano Allegri took over.

“I have a normal relationship with Allegri, although a lot has already been said and written. We were together for two years, one year at Milan and one at Juventus.”

He believed that I was no longer a player for Milan, he had found other solutions and felt that I was no longer necessary, so I decided to leave. Pirlo highlighted his divorce with Milan while speaking about his four-year marriage to Juventus:

“At Juventus we have completed a winning cycle. I stopped there because I didn’t want to be a burden to anyone and I didn’t want to be left out of the important games.”

I always wanted to play and that’s why I decided to leave Juventus.
