Fazoli is shocked: “I demanded money from my teammates, gambling became my obsession”
Nicolo Fazzoli confessed that he bet up to 3 million euros on the bet, but also that he asked for loans from his teammates, while he also received threats because of his debts.
Recently, his agent Niccolò Fazzoli admitted that his client was addicted to gambling and the player began treatment for his gambling addiction a few weeks ago under the supervision of doctor Paolo Zar.
The Juventus midfielder, who was the first to be charged with illegal betting, followed by Niccolò Zaniolo and Sandro Tonali, has admitted borrowing money from his teammates to “play” and has even received threats
Fazzoli explained how he got into the world of illegal betting: “I saw Tonali betting on, I don’t know which sports. He told me I could do it too because it was undetectable. From that moment I started betting. Others did too. I wasn’t afraid that it might be illegal. It was Tonali who prompted me to create an account.
Since I could no longer withdraw money from my account managed by my mother, I started asking my teammates for money. I owe Federico Gatti 40,000 euros, as does Radu Dragusin. I told them that I had to buy a Rolex in a jewelry store in Milan. I was obsessed.
To pay the amounts, I sometimes bought Rolexes via bank transfer. Sometimes I delivered them myself. Another time, the owners of the (betting) platform came by to pick them up from the jewelry store. When you don’t pay, the first threats come: “I’ll break your legs.”
First, a football player who has a lot of free time experiences the thrill of gambling to overcome boredom. But over time it became an obsession.
