Manolas: “I wanted to return to Olympiacos”
Costas Manolas announced to the Italian TV broadcaster La7 that he would like to return to Olympiacos, referring, among other things, to his experiences during his tenure in Roma and Napoli.
Costas Manolas spoke on an Italian TV station about his return to Greece and expressed his joy at his return to Olympiacos. At the same time, the Greek defender referred to his memories of the years he spent in Italy wearing the Roma and Napoli shirts.
“I have a lot of fond memories of Italy. The best part was qualifying for the semi-finals of the Champions League with Roma and the Cup with Napoli. It was my first trophy in Italy. I think we deserved qualification for the Champions League final with Roma. There were referees against us“, said in La7.
For a possible return to the Roma: “No. I’m on my team now. I wanted to go back to Olympiacos. But Roma will always be in my heart. I’ve had some terrible years and I’ve built a very strong relationship with the fans. I’ve managed to play with players like De Rossi and Totti who are among the top Italians“.
For women’s football: “In Rome I saw a lot of good women in football. I have three daughters and I hope that at least one of them will succeed and become a professional“.
