Thuram: “Henri is a reference point for me, I consider him to be my uncle”
Marcus Thuram has been a member of the French men’s national team since 2020 and used his statements to show what a big role Thierry Henry played in his development and described him as a reference point in his career.
Last summer, Inter decided to sign Marcus Thuram as a free agent from Gladbach and secure him a lucrative contract (five years) worth €6 million per year, which has so far been considered a complete success.
And that’s because the 26-year-old French striker works harmoniously with Lautaro Martinez in the Nerazzurri’s attack line and, with his 4 goals and 8 assists in the first 12 Serie A games, has contributed significantly to his team’s rise to the top of the table. With +2 from Juventus ahead of the derby between them in Turin.
In addition to his achievements at Inter, Thuram is also important for the French national team, of which he has been a member since 2020 (14 appearances – 1 goal), giving an interview to “Tuttomercato” and revealing how great Thierry Henry has a role in his competitive progress played.
“He is a benchmark for me, his style of play and his attitude. He is the example of what Clairfontein is trying to achieve, for me he is the perfect testament.”
I have known Henri since I was a child; he means just as much to me as my father. For me he is something like my uncle“, emphasized Turam characteristically, and then referred to his first memories of the blues:
“The national team became psychotic for me every morning when I met the French internationals on the way to school. I came from an American school and I was used to different timetables than the ones they followed.
I remember that on my first visit to the training center I noticed a sharp increase in the level compared to what I used to experience. They were all very strong, monsters.
On the field there was a not-so-tall boy from North Africa who played alone and did incredible things without looking at the ball, he was Amin Arit
I remember Alain Saint-Maximin, Christopher Enkunku, Florian Agé and others on the first day. When we started getting to know each other, we realized that we would spend a lot of time together and become a family.

Incredibly, Mourinho, he sang it to Kvaratshelias and was hugging and kissing him within 10 seconds
An incredible scene took place in the first 45 minutes of the Roma-Napoli game in which Jose Mourinho first theatrically cheered Kvaratshelias and then hugged and kissed him within ten seconds.
Incredible scene in Rome – Napoli where Jose Mourinho first chants Quaratschelia and then within ten seconds hugs, kisses and talks to him as if he were his father.
In the 37th minute of the game, the Georgian international earned a foul and a yellow card from his opponent, in a phase that took place in front of Mourinho, who insisted that there was not even a foul.
Afterwards, the Portuguese technician initially shouted at Kvaratshelias, telling him that he was just acting, but as he approached Georgianos, he hugged him, kissed him and began talking to him in a very calm tone while the two men found each other. A little later, the recording showed Mourinho having a very friendly chat with Osimen.
