Opta’s prediction model makes Inter the favorite to win the title at 83.3%
Only 12 games have been played in this year’s championship, but a prediction model from Opta already sees Inter as big favorites to win the Scudetto, with odds of around 83%.
Inter leads Serie A by two points over second-placed Juventus and travels to Turin on November 26th to play the top derby with the “veccia signora” on matchday 13. However, for football statistics company Opta, Simone Inzaghi’s team is very close to the title.
This finding was based on Opta’s prediction model, which suggested Inter had an 83.3% chance of winning the title, compared to Juventus’ 13.1%.
Understandably, the other teams in the top flight don’t have high hopes for the Scudetto: Opta gives AC Milan a 2.1% chance of the title and last year’s champions Napoli a 1.3% chance.
The two teams from the eternal city, Roma and Lazio, have zero chances, while Atalanta are in a better position, with the OPTA prediction model giving the Bergamaski 0.1% for the title.
