Pedro replied to Mourinho: “He’s funny, when he doesn’t talk about the referee he talks about a player.”
Pedro did not ignore the statement of Jose Mourinho who described him as a “swimmer” and speaking to Sport Italia he claimed that the Portuguese’s “techniques” were known.
This year’s first Derby della Capitale didn’t have many big phases and, fatefully, Roma and Lazio were left with nothing.
In the final, Jose Mourinho spoke about his former Chelsea player Pedro and wanted to highlight the Spaniard’s tendency to seek contact with Roma players on several occasions.
“Pedro is a fantastic footballer but he could also be a swimmer because the way he jumps in the pool is fantastic.”
For his part, the 36-year-old commented on the Special One’s statement and explained that he was not surprised by what the Portuguese said.
““We know what Mourinho is like, he’s done it before. He says one thing and then he says another. I remember when we beat Real he said different things, when we beat Manchester United 4-0 – I was at Chelsea – he said even more.
Last year, in the Roma derby, he said even more. It’s always like that. When he’s not talking about the referee, he’s talking about the calendar or a player falling on the field.
I know him very well. He is a very funny person. I’m not impressed by what he says because I know he’s using it to create tension in the derby. I know him very well, he was once my trainer.” the Spaniard told Sport Italia.
