Milan – Fiorentina 1-0: The tip remains red with two games to go
Rafael Leao’s goal in the 82nd minute saved Milan and held it 1-0 over Fiorentina in the Serie A title race against Inter.
The fight with the alien this year Florence was by definition dangerous for Milan who struggled to find the goal for 82 minutes. In the end, he conceded the goal of the “Viola” keeper and took the win with Rafael Leao 1-0 for the 35th Serie A game it holds over Inter.
The game was ambivalent, the “Rossoneri” had less time to keep the ball on their feet, but grabbed more easily from the opposing penalty area, especially from both wings. Theo Hernandez made a lot of runs from the left and the only problem for Stefano Pioli’s players was their failure in the final attempts.
This problem worsened in the first few minutes of Part 2. Leao and Hernandez had two great chances, but outside the small area…they managed to send the ball over Fiorentina’s house. Those absences almost cost as the Tuscans also had their good moments, but Mike Menian declared ‘present’ on two occasions, keeping the zero behind.
Pioli threw in Ande Rebic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and tried to find the goal, but the solution was given by the Fiorentina goalkeeper. Pietro Teratsiano volleyed at Leao in the 82nd minute, the Portuguese took control, entered the penalty area and made it 1-0. His 10th goal of the year could prove ‘gold’ for the Milanese, who will sit above Inter with at least two games to go.
