Juventus 1-0 Napoli: Beat the champions with Gatti and remain unbeaten

Juventus moved to the top of the table, albeit with a match point lead, as they beat champions Napoli 1-0, with Federico Gatti scoring the winner in the 51st minute.

Juventus played a great game against Napoli. The Bianconeri defeated the Partenopei 1-0 on matchday 15 of Serie A, with Federico Gatti scoring the winning goal in the 51st minute, returning to victory over the champions after 2.5 years.


Juve are at the top of the table with 36 points and are +1 ahead of Inter, who host Udinese on Saturday (9/12). In fact, the Bianconeri have been unbeaten since September 23rd. Napoli remained at 24 points and in 5th place.

The first half offered speed and chances on both sides. In the 19th minute, Vlahovic shot across the body, then turned things around with his head. McKenney attempted a scissor to finish, but was aggressively fouled by Merrett.

In the 24th minute, Napoli missed a huge chance to score. Kvaratshelia had to face Szczesny, but his penalty went over the crossbar, earning him a score of 0.5xG.

Juventus scored in the 51st minute. Cambiazzo made a great cross from the right, Gatti got the header and sent the ball into the net for Meret.

Napoli tried to react. In the 70th minute he scored with Osimen, but the goal did not count as the Partenopei striker was exposed. The visitors had possession of the ball until the final, but Juventus defended their lead without any major problems.
