Ibrahimovic returned to Milan as an advisor to management

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to Milan is a fact. The former Swedish top scorer has returned to the Rossoneri as an advisor to the team’s ownership and management.

In parallel with this post, “Ibra” was hired as a partner by Red Bird (the company that controls AC Milan) for its investments in sports, media and entertainment.

Italian media reported yesterday that Ibrahimovic was the main candidate to replace Stefano Pioli if the Italian coach was sacked from the Milan bench.

In his statements after formalizing the agreement, Ibrahimovic stated the following: “I am extremely grateful to be able to support Red Bird and Milan in these important and meaningful roles. Red Bird has worked with some of the world’s best athletes, teams and business leaders to create companies with meaning and impact. I look forward to contributing to their investment activities in their sports, media and entertainment properties.

My love for the Rossoneri will never die and the opportunity to be part of their future in a meaningful way is something I can only dream of. I am grateful to Jerry Cardinale for giving me this opportunity. I greatly admire the commitment, passion and hard work that Red Bird and management have shown since taking over the club.

This is not a decision I make lightly – it is a decision that is very important and personal to me and my family. I’ve been thinking a lot about the first steps in my post-playing career and I couldn’t be more excited to start this journey as a member of RedBird and Milan. For me and my family, this is truly a homecoming to the beloved club where I ended my playing career and am now embarking on my next chapter“.
