Supermaster Chiellini said goodbye to football with a wonderful video
The European champion with the Italian national team, Giorgio Chiellini, made the decision to hang up his boots at the age of 39 and made this known through a wonderful video that he published on his social media accounts.
After a great career on the pitch, which included winning the Euro 2020 as captain of the Italian national team and winning nine consecutive championships with the jersey of Juventus (for which he played for 17 years), Giorgio Chiellini threw titles at the end.
He did this after 1.5 years on the other side of the Atlantic, where he played in the MLS for Los Angeles FC. The 39-year-old defender announced his decision to leave the pitch in a stunning video in which he presented his highlights spread with the jerseys of all the teams he competed for.
“You were the most beautiful and intense journey of my life,” Chiellini wrote on social media about football, adding: “You were everything for me.
I went on a unique and unforgettable journey with you. But now it’s time to open new chapters and write more important and exciting pages.”
His course on the playing fields
Giorgio Chiellini made his professional football debut with Livorno, with whom he won two promotions from Serie C to the top flight, before being signed by Juventus in 2004, after a year as part-owner of Fiorentina, to make it their own, last year by Fabio Capello.
From there he experienced the entire modern history of the Vecchia Signora, from Calciopoli and relegation to Serie B to the comeback and incredible empire of nine consecutive championships and five consecutive Coppa Italias, as well as two appearances in the Champions League final (2015) . , 2017) and receiving the captain’s armband after the departure of Gianluigi Buffon in 2018.
The captain’s armband was also worn in the summer of 2021 when he won the European Cup with the Italian national team at “Wembley”, with Chiellini saying goodbye to football and finishing fifth (117) with the Squadra Azzura jersey and third with the black and whites of Juventus (561) with only Del Piero and Buffon in front of him.
