Atletico Mineiro have announced the takeover of 35-year-old Uruguayan defender Diego Godin, who previously wore the shirts of Atletico Madrid and Inter. The international center-back signed until December 2022, with the option to expand the collaboration between the two sides.
Diego Godin is also an Atletico Mineiro player, with the Brazilians announcing the takeover of the Uruguayan center-back who was sacked by Cagliari.
Godin signed through December 2022, while the possibility of an extension of Atletico’s collaboration with the 35-year-old international is envisaged.
In the past, Godin wore the Atletico Madrid shirt for nine years, scoring a total of 27 goals and 14 assists. He previously played for Inter and Villarreal, among others, while his last stop in Europe was Cagliari.
