Roma 1-0 Cagliari: Oliveira shines on his debut

Sergio Oliveira struck from the white ball on his debut in Roma shirt to lead Mourinho’s side to a 1-0 win over Cagliari at Olimpico and their first win of 2022.

A week after the shock of the home game against Juventus (they lost 3-4 despite leading 3-1), Roma returned to “Olimpico” and this time wowed their fans.

He did so by beating Cagliari 1-0 in the 22nd game of Serie A, with Jose Mourinho’s side returning to success after back-to-back defeats and a negative streak of three league games.

The person who drew the most attention was none other than Sergio Oliveira. Not only because the Portuguese midfielder made his debut for the side of the eternal city a few days after taking over from Porto (on loan with an option to buy), but also because he judged the game and scored a penalty in the 33rd minute.

However, the Romans failed to achieve high standards of performance and struggled to secure Walter Maccari’s victory over Cagliari (it came from back-to-back wins that put him within reach of the line of salvation) in the 85th minute, a golden opportunity to make it 1-1, but Joao Pedro’s attempt was – with the help of Patricio – stopped by the crossbar.

It is worth noting that 17-year-old Greek stopper Dimitris Keramitsis made his debut with the Roma shirt coming on at 90+4′ in place of Maitland-Niles, while for Cagliari sides Lykogiannis folded in the 80th minute instead of Dalbert.

Roma: Patricio, Maitland-Niles (90+4′ Keramitsis), Mancini, Koumboula, Vina, Vertu (90+4′ Beauvais), Oliveira, Michitarian, Gianniolo (86′ Karsdorp), Ibraham, Afenau-G)

CALIAR: Cranio, Jaapa, Altare (89′ Galliano), Goldaniga, Carboni, Marin, Deiola, Dalbert (80′ Lykogiannis), Pereiro (69′ Nantes), Pedro, Pavoleti

The results of the 22nd game:

The highlights:

Salernitana – Lazio 0-3

Sampdoria – Torino 1-2

Juventus-Udinese 2-0

Sassuolo-Verona 2-4

Venice – Empoli 1-1

Rome 1-0 Cagliari

Incredibly, Mourinho, he sang it to Kvaratshelias and was hugging and kissing him within 10 seconds

An incredible scene took place in the first 45 minutes of the Roma-Napoli game in which Jose Mourinho first theatrically cheered Kvaratshelias and then hugged and kissed him within ten seconds.

Incredible scene in Rome – Napoli where Jose Mourinho first chants Quaratschelia and then within ten seconds hugs, kisses and talks to him as if he were his father.

In the 37th minute of the game, the Georgian international earned a foul and a yellow card from his opponent, in a phase that took place in front of Mourinho, who insisted that there was not even a foul.

Afterwards, the Portuguese technician initially shouted at Kvaratshelias, telling him that he was just acting, but as he approached Georgianos, he hugged him, kissed him and began talking to him in a very calm tone while the two men found each other. A little later, the recording showed Mourinho having a very friendly chat with Osimen.
