With Ganea on the left against Levadeiakos, Magnusson and Verbitz are fighting for a place in the starting XI
Ganea will cover the left wing of Panathinaikos in the game Leoforos vs Levadeiakos (3/9, 20:30, COSMOTE SPORTS 2, LIVE Sportish) while Magnusson and Verbic fight for a place in the starting XI.
On Saturday (March 9th, 8:30 p.m., COSMOTE SPORTS 2, LIVE Sportish) Panathinaikos hosts Levadeiakos as part of the 3rd matchday and wants to continue with the absolute and three out of three in a match that will be played in a packed Leoforos.
In his second home game and with greens coming from a great double in Crete, Panathinaikos is expected to take on Levadeiakos with changes in eleven vs OFI.
When Juancar, who covered left wing in Jedi Kule, was ruled out after suffering bicep and trefoil problems, the goal was to prevent anything worse from happening to the left-footed defender and be able to see AEK in the Matchday 4 derby .
Thoughts on Magnuson
The second change, while not self-evident, has to do with Magnusson’s presence in the starting line-up alongside one of Sarlia or Pougoura, and probably the former. Unless Jovanovic doesn’t take chances with the Icelander’s presence in the starting XI, instead using him throughout the game to get a rhythm for the Athens derby that follows. There will be little change from there and only Verbic could claim a place in the starting XI.
So, in the Panathinaikos line-up, Brignoli is expected to be under the goalposts, with Kotsira covering the right wing and Ganeas covering the left wing, while Roumano plays in place of Huancar. For the center of defence, Magnuson, Sarlia and Poungouras claim the two positions.
Verbich is also vying for a post
In the center, Pereth and Kourbelis reappear, with Tserin in front of them, while Aitor, Palasios, and Sporar engage in an attacking trio.
In the event that Verbitz plays as a starter, the most likely scenario is that Cerin will come off the starting lineup to allow Panathinaikos to be more aggressive and provide spectacle and goals for their fans who will fill the avenue.
The 22-man Panathinaikos squad for today’s game consists of Brinioli, Lodgin, Xenopoulos, Vaiannidis, Ruben, Ioannidis, Sporar, Ganea, Sanchez, Tserin, Kourbelis, Aitor, Magnuson, Sideras, Kotsiras, Sarlia, Palasios, Poungouras, Xavier and verbs, frokou and campetsis.
