Giving an interview to a website in France, Christian Karebe referred to the big goal Olympiacos have set for themselves, which is to win a European trophy, while discussing the Red-Whites’ takeover of Marcelo and the offer from Nantes.

Thursday’s (8/9) match between Olympiakos and Nantes was an excellent opportunity for the French to speak to Christian Carrebe, who links the two sides.

The Red and White sporting director, in an interview on a French website, claimed that the Olympiacos’ big goal is to win a European title, why not the Europa League this season, citing Marcelo’s arrival at the club as well about Nantes and what he had experienced as a player of the “Canaries”.

Speaking to AFP, he first said of the fight between Olympiakos and Nantes:

It’s one of the surprises that football can offer. It’s a twist of fate. Nan gave me everything. The conditions, the know-how, the experience. They coached me, taught me how to understand football. I was excited and proud to be part of the Canary Islands.”

For Olympiacos going to have him against them Antoine Compoire:

He’s the one who welcomed me, who gave me advice, who made me grow. He was my teacher. These are my roots in Nantes.”

For Karebe there is no dilemma:

“It’s going to be difficult for me but I’m with my club Olympiacos and we’re coming to win and try to qualify.”

About his goal at Olympiakos:

“My goal was to bring stability to the club, a vision we share with the President, financial and sporting stability. The success is 100% and we have to keep going.”

For his aim in the European institutions:

“We have always set the bar very high. We want to get to the final of this Europa League and why not win, that’s clear.”

Upon Marcelo’s arrival in Olympiakos:

“Nobody believed it. It’s something magical.”
