Sidibe is in Greece to complete his move to AEK
Djibril Sidibe arrived in Greece at 45 minutes past midnight on Wednesday to complete his transfer to AEK. The French defender will undergo tests before signing his contract with Union.
The last, 99%, transmission of AEK, o Jibril Sidibe has been in Greece since Thursday morning (09.08.). The French defender arrived in Athens on a flight from Paris just before 1am on Thursday to undergo medical tests before signing his contract with Union.
The international defender is expected to be in the PAE offices on Thursday, stopping by the OPAP Arena and of course signing his contract.
If everything goes according to plan, Sidibe will be announced by AEK, who will thus complete a great transfer with a footballer expected to be a regular on the right side of the ‘yellow-black’ defence, without ruling out also offering solutions on the left flank either in the center of defence, especially in a back three.
AEK’s proposal to Sidibe
The Union offers him a three-year contract with a salary of almost 1 million euros, maybe even with a signing bonus and a goal bonus. That is, it gives him security for many years and good money, which is difficult to find in Europe at that time. For example, Betis wrote that they don’t offer him a €600,000 contract. In addition, it is also about the footballer and his ambitions.
A reigning world champion in Greece
Sidibe will become the 5th Frenchman in the Union after a parade of failed passes by his compatriots in the Union shirt. None of Eric Rabesandratana (2001-02), Olivier Ensiabafoumou (2009-10) and recent Damien Le Talec and Clement Michelin have managed to stand out at AEK, leaving a stain for the 30-year-old ace to clean up.
In recent years, Sidibe has played at Monaco, with whom he made 26 appearances last year while celebrating the French championship with them in 2016/17. He has also played for Lille, Troyes and Everton. Coming from the Troyes infrastructure departments, he is 14 times international with 1 goal. In total, he has made 365 official appearances for clubs with 18 goals and 37 assists in his career.
