Superleague
Finally Manolas of Olympiacos
Kostas Manolas is a thing of the past at Olympiacos, his second tenure with the Red-Whites proving rather short. He will continue his career in Dubai on behalf of Sharjah.
Kostas Manolas leaves Olympiacos. The Greek centre-back will continue his career in the United Arab Emirates and Sharjah, who have offered him a very good deal.
The 31-year-old stopper returned to Olympiacos in January when he was taken over by Napoli, with the Red and Whites looking to sign him since last summer. Last season he made 14 appearances and celebrated winning the Super League, while this year he has made eight appearances in all competitions.
In the past, Manolas has played for Roma and Napoli before his first spell at Olympiakos and the three years he spent at AEK where he started his career. The Red and Whites sold him to Roma in the summer of 2014 for 15 million euros.
The Red-Whites continue the season with available stoppers Papastathopoulos, Cisse, Ba and Retso, while there’s also Vrsaliko, who can play as a central defender in a three- or four-man formation.
