Magnusson played in Iceland’s friendly against Venezuela a month after his injury
Horður Magnusson was a key player and indispensable in Iceland’s friendly against rivals Venezuela on Thursday night (22/9) in Austria after the Panathinaikos stopper had bounced back from August 21 and his injury in the game against Ionic.
Good news for Panathinaikos of Austria and venue of the Iceland-Venezuela friendly where Hordur Magnusson made his debut after a month and his injury in the Super League opener against Ionikos played on August 21.
The Icelandic stopper started in Iceland’s starting XI, played at left-back and was one of five Icelandic players who were not substituted and played the entire game.
Iceland prevailed 1-0 with a goal in the 87th minute of the game, but for Jovanovic and Panathinaikos the most important thing is that Magnusson bounced back 90 minutes after almost a month and showed he has overcome his injury.
