The Super League expressed its support for the Strong Me initiative by participating in the actions organized for Sunday (25/9). Statement by Deputy President Katia Koxenoglou.

The Super League opposes any form of sexism and any form of discrimination.

As announced in this context, the League supports “the initiative to inform and raise awareness of society, against sexism and any kind of discrimination.

Strong me, with the support of the Super League and the Panhellenic Association of Salried Footballers (PSAPP), is organizing a football celebration for the first time in Greece with the aim of educating society on gender equality issues.

As part of this initiative, a series of sports activities for people of all ages and genders will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Serafios Swimming Pool Sports Facilities of the City of Athens.

In this celebration of football, athletes, coaches and coaches will collaborate on activities and play with children to spread a message of equality, solidarity and recognition of the right to diversity, so that concepts such as social skills, respect and tolerance are implemented inside and outside borders of the field will now become a matter of course in society”.

In this matter, the Deputy President of the Super League, Katia Koxenogloustated the following: The Super League is against sexism and any rhetoric that incites discrimination.

It goes without saying that we must not leave room for manifestations of hate, violence and disrespect.

On the contrary, we must emphasize at every opportunity that we are all equal and must respect diversity.

A key pillar is information and education, and the Super League sets “targets” for the sexism that is prevalent in the now male-dominated sporting arena such as stadiums.

We want everyone on and off the field to have equal opportunities and equal rights“.

The “STRONG ME” festival in the Serafion of the city of Athens shows the power of “togetherness” and respect.

For those who need us, two separate acts of love are accomplished:

BECOME A VOLUNTEER BONE MARROW DONOR

The Vision of Hope Association founded the Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Bank in 2012 to fill the severe shortage of compatible transplants that our country is facing due to the very low number of bone marrow volunteers.

The low number of voluntary bone marrow donors in Greece means that the main search for voluntary donors for those who need to undergo a bone marrow transplant is from abroad when there is no compatible donor within the family – which is the case in only 30% of cases .

This fact creates significant medical, social and economic problems in our country. One response to these problems was the establishment of the Bone Marrow Volunteer Bank, which has managed to enroll over 120,000 new volunteers in its ten years.

At the stand of the “Vision of Hope” association, we get information and become voluntary donors in a very simple and uncomplicated way: by giving a saliva sample.

We give hope for life!
