The former Colombian gymnast revealed the work he has done with James Rodriguez
Former Colombia national team coach Eduardo Velasco has detailed the plan he devised for James Rodriguez to avoid injury and improve his fitness.
James Rodríguez is one of Olympiakos’ big signings this year. The Colombian superstar has already made his mark on the side with an assist, a goal and generally good performances.
Former Colombia national team coach Eduardo Velasco spoke to radio station Antena 2 Cali and described the plan he had devised for James Rodriguez to avoid future injuries.
“We did a great job with Hames, first of all because he opened the door for us. We have developed a comprehensive program after an extensive evaluation that we have carried out.
We followed a road map and practically found his injuries and how they happened. We made a commitment to help him and support him with whatever means we had.” expressly stated.
Then he added: “We tried to teach him what to do when he hasn’t been with the Colombian national team for a long time and I think the effort paid off.”
In fact, he stressed that he remains in touch with Rodriguez: “I try to suggest ways for him to get back to the level of fitness and form that has guided his football career.”
