That’s what Sidibe did with his rearfoot on his Super League debut

Djibril Sidibe also made his debut in the Super League and showed in his first try in the Greek league what he has to offer AEK, especially in the offensive part. His collaboration with Gacinovic and the room for improvement.

AEK extended their Super League and Greek Cup winning streak with a 2-0 win against Livadia and now face their first derby at the OPAP Arena against PAOK in high spirits.

One of the hurdles Matias Almeida faced against Levadeiakos was the problem at left-back with Mohammadi and Hadjisafi absent with injury problems.

His options included the fitter but inexperienced Vedat Radonia and the more experienced Sidibe, who is right-footed but has played quite a bit in his career at left-back.

The France international defender’s CV has ‘convinced’ Almeida and the Argentina coach must feel justified in choosing him.

He stayed low but created a threat with Gacinovic

Djibril Sidibe (29) stayed deep on the pitch and, with his average space behind center, didn’t have the ups and downs of Rota (12) from the right.

The 30-year-old full-back may have been further down the pitch, but he helped AEK develop and was heavily involved in passing.

The French national defender had 83 actions with the ball and 49/64 passesas we see in the Opta Stats/Perform chart.

Sidibe’s contribution was particularly important in the attacking part, which AEK’s game was focused on for most of the game with Levadeiakos. The 30-year-old shared his back 23 passes in attackonly one less than the “first” Gacinovic.

At the same time he did two last attempts for AEK, as many as Levia Garcia, with a key pass fewer than Eliasson and Gatsinovic.

On his Super League debut, Djibril Sidibe made a positive impression considering he did so in a reverse-footed position.

The France full-back will take some time to get used to his set pieces but he has the experience of not only being able to live up to the demands of a game for a full 90 minutes, but being able to be an important cog in the Yellow-Black development.

If Mohammadi and Hadjisafi are not even available for the game against PAOK then Sidibe will be the main candidate to fill the gap as he did quite well in Livadia.
