Olympiacos – Lamia 2:0: Clean from the first part and now a derby of eternity
Olympiacos cleaned Lamia from the first half with goals from James Rodríguez in the 22nd minute and Bakabou in the 28th. The Red-Whites won 2-0 and are now concentrating on the game against Panathinaikos next Sunday (November 6, 7:30 p.m.).
Olympiacos continued with victories in the Super League, defeating Lamia 2-0 at Georgios Karaiskakis on La Liga matchday 10, a few days after drawing 1-1 with Freiburg in Germany.
The red and white “cleaned” the game from the first part. James Rodríguez opened the scoring with a 22nd-minute header, while Cedric Bakabou scored twice for Piraeus in the 28th minute.
Olympiacos managed to somehow manage 20 points and is -10 behind leaders Panathinaikos, who they face next matchday (6/11, 19:30). Of course there is also the game against Nantes on the last day of the Europa League, which has no punchline.
From the first minutes of the game, the red and white wanted to control the pace. They kept the ball and tried to break through the Fthiotida team’s defense. After 22′ Olympiacos took the lead.
Inbom Hwang pulled out a nice one-on-one on the right side of the box. There James Rodríguez took the header, Saranov didn’t react, the ball took a strange trajectory and landed in the Lamia net. Six minutes later, Piraeus scored twice.
Doi played a deep ball to Bakabu who defeated Adezzo with his power and speed. He entered the box opposite Saranov and crossed to double the goals for the Reds and Whites. The guests’ best moment was captured in the 35th minute. Giakoumakis fell and tried to score, but Papastathopoulos squeezed in.
The second half started slower and Lamia looked for a way to get back into the game. In fact, Askovsky found himself alone in front of Paschalakis in the 50th minute after a shot from the right. He put his foot in the goal but couldn’t direct the ball into the net.
Then came Marcelo and Valbuena, Olympiacos consolidated his dominance. In fact, in the 73rd minute, the Colombian and the Brazilian tried to combine to score the third goal.
After the 80th minute, Arabi and Biel had good moments to further increase the score, but were unable to do so. It stayed 2-0 until the final.
OLYMPIC: Paschalakis, Avila, Ba, Doi, Reabchuk (60′ Marcelo), Samaseku, Inbom Huang, Masouras (59′ Valbuena), Biel, Hames (75′ Brusai), Bakabou (74′ Arabi).
