PAOK ‘cleaned it up’ early on and got back on winning ways by beating PAS in Toumba

PAOK with two goals before completing the ten minutes of the game in Toumba with Ingason and Schwab defeated PAS Ioannina 2-0 in Toumba and showed a reaction after their loss to AEK.

After losing to AEK in “OPAP Arena”, PAOK wanted to react against PAS Ioannina, return to winning ways, take the three points and play good football. He managed the first two and part of the third as he beat Ioannina’s side 2–0, in a game in which he scored both goals before the ten-minute mark at Toumba, with Ingason and Schwab named goalscorers became.

The hosts were better in the opening 45 minutes as they managed to take the lead and set the stage for victory. In the first half, the guests could not react at any point and threatened Kotarski’s goal.

On the contrary, in the second half, the guests played better and created some phases where they could reduce the goal, but Kotarski said no. For its part, PAOK kept the lead of the score until the end, achieving victory and conquest of the three points.

PAOK, who played without Narei and Kurtic for the first time this year, managed to score two goals in two minutes with Ingason in the 8th minute and Schwab in the 10th, and basically the game ended somewhere in Toumba.

Lucescu’s men threatened Živkovic in the 2nd minute and showed their spirits early on for what was to come. Six minutes later, PAOK took the lead when Ingasson scored his first goal of the year with a header from a Rafa Soares free-kick from the left.

On PAOK’s next attack, Sastre made a nice cross to Oliveira, with Soria pulling and turning him around and the referee showing the penalty. Schwab took over and scored twice to make it 2-0 ten minutes before the end.

PAOK continued at the same pace and could have scored a third goal in the 23rd minute when they launched a very nice attack with Konstantelias as the final receiver who scored the point by flying the ball past Athanasios’ right post. In the 40th minute, Oliveira was the one who was able to score, but the shot he attempted from inside the box was blocked impressively by the PAS Giannina goalkeeper for a corner.

At the start of the second half, Staikos threw Moreira into play instead of Fofanas and the visitors’ picture changed for the better as the PAS players got the ball at their feet and tried to threaten Kotarski when he had to intervene and keep the zero in his hearth.

The hosts, for their part, kept looking for a third goal but didn’t have the offensive initiative they had shown in the first 45 minutes and the game ended 2-0 with the two goals from the first half.
