PAOK has extended Ingason’s contract until 2025
PAOK announced the extension of its collaboration with Ingason, who has signed a contract with Dikefalos until 2025.
Ingason’s contract extension has been formally completed. The Icelandic defender has signed a contract with PAOK until 2025.
His new contract, which increases his salary to a seven-digit number, does not include a clause to replace his rights. This means that PAOK determines the value of their player in case there is an interest in taking him from another team.
PAOK’s announcement in detail:
PAOK FC announce the extension of Ingi Ingasson’s contract until June 30, 2025.
Sverir Ingi Ingason was born on August 5, 1993 in Copavongur, Iceland. He joined local Braidablick academies in 1997 and stayed with the team until 2013 where he reached the club’s first team.
He began playing for Braidablick subsidiary Augnablik at the age of 18, with first-team coach Olafur Christianson spotting his talent and inviting him to train with the first-team, which has been established as one of the country’s most promising players.
In January 2014 he moved to Norway’s Viking. There he found four of his compatriots and immediately took a basic jersey with him. He performed very well alongside Iceland’s national team captain, Andrew Sigurdsson, and won his new team the MVP award of the season. A year later, it was time for another change in performance. Belgium and Lokeren were ideal destinations for Ingasson, who stayed there until January 2017, playing in 70 games and scoring one goal. The first half of 2017 found him in Granada and La Liga. And there he performed exceptionally well, although his team failed to save the game and were relegated. In the summer of the same year, Rostov paid 1.2 million euros and included him in his potential.
Hardened, he had absolutely no trouble adapting and immediately won a base jersey. At the end of the transfer window in January 2019, PAOK announced their acquisition and the rest is history. Ingasson became The Iceman of Biceps and celebrated capturing the undefeated league but also two Greek Cups. In total, he has played with the black and white jersey 94 times, scoring 12 goals while also providing three assists. .
