Ioannidis: “We’ve been looking for a result like this for a long time”
Fotis Ioannidis was in command after Panathinaikos won a derby long in search of the shamrock throughout the season.
Panathinaikos beat AEK 3-0 to win their first derby of the season and, as Fotis Ioannidis noted, it was a result the Greens had been waiting for.
The Greece striker also featured in the game’s preparation, referencing the trefoil shots while speaking about himself, saying:
“All week we thought about the game, we had organized a lot of shots that went great today. We got the three points with nice football.
The first goal was for us to have possession and the game to be balanced whether we had the ball or not. Building a good development from the ends and being in shooting position with me or not as a support in attack.
We’ve been looking for it for a long time, today it’s here, it gives us psychology to keep going with the same zeal to win and win every game.
