Martins: ‘Valbouena is unique, I want him to stay’
Pedro Martins spoke in the warmest terms about Mathieu Valbouena after Olympiakos’ 5-1 win over Asteras, stressing that he’s acting like he’s 20 years old.
Olympiakos prevailed 5-1 against Asteras for the postponed game of the 17th game. Pedro Martins stressed after the game that his team was formed while expressing his desire for Valbouena to stay.
The statements of Martins in detail:
If he saw a better Olympiacos tonight like he said a month and a half ago: “If you refer to some players who needed time, like Gary Rodrεςguez who was injured, Carvalho or Cisse who was absent for a long time, then we see a good picture. It was a good game, it was a fair win. We have a very good picture We are a team very formed.
There are other cases like Fadiga, Kane or Brusai who are playing in a new position, have changed it and need time. Of course when you play at Olympiakos you don’t have time because Olympiakos always plays to win. “Some players needed more time to get involved and they are improving.”
Whether he would like a younger Valbuena: “Mathieu is unique, there is no one else like him. He behaves like he’s 20 years old. He gives everything, he’s here and he always helps. I want him to stay.”
