AEK must find its own Lutsescu

Charlie writes about AEK not being able to beat PAOK with 10 players despite a game of its size, but also about the financial surplus needed to bring his own Lutsescu in the summer.

AEK players couldn’t have found better conditions for Ofridopoulos to start. They were lucky to play with a player upstairs from the 19th minute against an opponent who has suffered a lot in recent years.

The game on the plate

When Tsigaras left his team of ten with a reckless 19th-minute move, he created a game that seemed difficult for AEK to win. When Garcia scored in the 28th minute, victory seemed assured and there were even conditions for a fake breakout that would add to the atmosphere.

Once again, however, the AEK players were defeated by the circumstances. They had the game on their plate but couldn’t win it. Nothing changes a game like a miscarriage. In this case the match was changed, the players from AEK but failed to beat PAOK even in a match that happened to be put on the plate.

Record 10-7-1

The record that PAOK holds against AEK after the episodic game with the goal by Varelas who was crowned AEK champions is now 10-7-1.

Until Tsigaras made the mistake, we could see how much better Lucescu has his players. The sample is small but able to see that if the elimination didn’t come, the game we would see would be vastly different.

Abortion changed the game

The player was less forcing Lutsescu to lower his lines much deeper. Use the classic 4-4-1 in low measures, used by those coaches who respect themselves when they stick less with a player. Augusto walked alongside Kurtic, Akpom started pushing well under the bar and the two extremes tried not to leave the extreme defenders any distance.

AEK was pleased with the early lead. Just nine minutes after Tsingaras was sent off, when the reality of the game changed, he was happy to have found a goal.

Couldn’t have created a more favorable scenario for AEK’s players and complicated the path for Lutsescu’s players. And yet they managed not to win this game either. In the end, the people of AEK did not hide their disappointment and disapproved of the footballers, who can be seen from their image that they did not do a good job.

It has themes in all parts of the game

AEK has an issue in all parts of the game. Nothing wrong with that. Psychologically, from the way she defends in low yards, from the way she covers her back when trying to raise her lines, her defense in the sets, from how she tries to attack as a whole.

Nothing, but nothing is done right. PAOK with fewer players, without Zivkovic and Kurtic necessarily being low, didn’t have many chances to seek the goal.

With the looks of a warrior

They knew they had to use the setup. Akpom was agile, winning two fouls in good position by the end of the first half and in both executions Kurtic had taken the killer’s face. He went to the ball in the style of a warrior, a leader who knows how to frighten the opponent with his executions. He knew there wouldn’t be many opportunities, now is the time for him to strike.

His first run was from a spot that seemed very difficult to reach, with his right foot. Strange things had to happen, he had to try to get the ball through the needle’s hole, between the wall, a player on the wall was startled by the ball and opened it, the goalkeeper was surprised and strangled. All of this happened and PAOK equalized.

It was an extreme ending, a result of the performer’s psychology, luck and skill, a result of the fear, unhappiness and incompetence of those involved on the part of AEK.

They had time, Ball, easy yards gained, but they didn’t have the knowledge to capitalize on the gifts

But it was a lot of time. It was really a lot of time and the advantage that AEK had was not easy. A footballer from the 19th minute until the end against an opponent who is not exactly known for his athleticism.

PAOK couldn’t do many things. Lucescu knew his fate, stepping in half hoping not to get a settled bass and cautiously lifting players. In AEK they had the ball on their feet, they had a lot of yards, even time to decide how to attack, but it was obvious that they weren’t trained at all to open up the opposing defense. For this reason, the collaboration with Argyris Giannikis could not be continued. I wrote it in yesterday’s text, the reason why it failed was that it failed to work on a creative plan capable of bringing victories with initiative football.

He couldn’t take advantage of the player above

Just as AEK OFI, Volos, couldn’t beat Panetolikos at home, they couldn’t use the player who was above them against PAOK. The terms are the same, possession, action won and the need for collaborations to create clear chances. Since it didn’t happen in the games with small and medium teams and there were unacceptable losses for the size of the club, it couldn’t create really big chances against PAOK for exactly the same reason.

We haven’t seen the logical scenario

It wasn’t easy for AEK not to win, it wasn’t easy for PAOK not to lose. Neither the reaction of the people with the end of the game, nor the violent one, because the small importance of the level of equality for his team, a celebration of Lutsescu, was no coincidence. AEK got the win on their plate but didn’t make it. Difficult conditions were created for the PAOK team, but he showed character, upheld his psychology and prevailed against AEK.

Lucescu makes the difference

It’s a given that the problems AEK face as a side are beyond the manager’s responsibility, but it’s also clear that Argyris Giannikis hasn’t managed to make the slightest bit of progress.

How much this year’s PAOK has benefited no one can dispute, whose management went too far over the summer to bring back the coach who was the first choice of anyone who wanted to compete with Olympiacos.

There were all the conditions for PAOK to have a failed season this year, but Lutsescu, with his work and knowledge, managed to reverse the situation and create conditions to even make this season a successful one. No one can deny that exceeding the budget in the summer was worth it to say yes to Lucescu. Nobody can deny that it is his own achievement that he managed to shoot for his team this year. AEK in the summer will have to search well, pay dearly to find their own luceskor.
