Jose Moreira, the man from PAOK alongside Paschalakis
Jose Moreira, the Portuguese goalkeeping coach who succeeded Razvan Lucescu from Al Hilal to Toumba and is mentioned by Alexandros Paschalakis.
In the derby with AEK in OAKA Alexandros Paschalakis again showed a very good performance and confirmed his excellent condition for a long time.
The PAOK goalie even made a post on Instagram praising PAOK goalkeeping coach Jose Moreira. “If he were not the master, there would be no Paschalakis. Thank you Jose Moreira. In everything next to us“, He wrote.
Paschalakis sent the 40-year-old Portuguese off on penalties after qualifying against Midtjylland. “Mr. Moreiras and I are very close as people, we make a lot of friends off the field. He may be my coach, but we’ve developed a father-son relationship‘ said the Greek goalkeeper at the time.
Who is Jose Moreira?
Moreira hung up his gloves in 2019 after making a career primarily at Benfica, where he joined their academies aged 17. He defended the Eagles’ homeland in 143 games and kept it intact in 58 games.
In the summer of 2011 he moved to Brendan Rodgers’ Swansea. who had just been promoted to the Premier League. His selection was rather unsuccessful as he only played in one game and resigned from his contract in May 2012. The next stop in his career was Omonia in Cyprus, where he made 70 appearances before returning to Portugal.
He ended his career at the age of 37 with Cova Piedade, the Portuguese second division club, to join Razvan Lucescu’s coaching staff at Al Hilal.
He followed the Romanian coach to PAOK and it seems that he is already ‘linked’ with the Dikefalos goalkeepers.
