The dates with Mitritsas in PAOK
The scenarios of the last few days from Romania do not affect Mitritsa’s “status” in Toumba, as talks about his future will take place after the end of Biceps’ commitments.
Yesterday’s scenarios from Romania for Alexandrou Mitritsa are reminiscent of the scene that was created around Razvan Lucescu in the autumn. As the biceps coach’s compatriots wanted to take him a step away from Toumba’s departure and a candidate for their national team’s bench.
The PAOK extreme forward remains trapped in his homeland as he was attacked by Covid-19 and the scenarios give and take. According to what is written there, Mitritsa will not continue his career at Toumba and will be free in the summer to choose the next stage of his career. And it’s open that this could be the University of Craiova, his former team also interested in Fernando Varela.
However, the dates are different. First of all, Mitritsa gets another one-year contract with New York in the summer, which spent 8 million euros in the winter of 2019. His contract expired in the summer but was renewed before his loan to PAOK. Which means Americans will have a say in his decisions again.
On the other hand, a team could hardly meet the demands of the 27-year-old footballer, even the financially strong Craiova. After all, their people had admitted it last summer when Mitritsa was training there and there was a possibility that he would return to his former team. Which was closed when PAOK’s interest surfaced.
As for Dikefalos, no final decisions seem to have been made about the future of working with the Romanian midfielder. It seems a given that if PAOK want to keep him they will try to negotiate with New York from scratch and not on the basis of the clause included in his loan deal which according to information reaches 4 million euros.
As the season enters the final and most critical phase for PAOK, the priorities of the people of Dikefalos are basically competitive. Contract issues like Mitritsas’ will be discussed later after the team’s competitive commitments end.
In any case, despite the problems he faced in the first half of the season, the Romanian midfielder has already become important to his coach, which Razvan Lucescu admits.
The PAOK coach is waiting for Mitritsa’s return to Thessaloniki as he counts on him for the first game against Marseille at Velontrom. The 27-year-old was diagnosed with coronavirus the day after Romania’s friendly with our national team and will return to Greece once his quarantine ends.
