The foursome for tightening the seatbelts at Olympiacos and the latest developments for Martin’s contract

Pedro Martins and Modesto – Torosidis had several foursome fours to wake up the Olympiacos players over the past two days. Positive developments come with the Portuguese coach’s contract.

Pedro Martins, as we mentioned earlier, used harsh language in his speech to the players the day after the Olympiacos-Apollon Smyrnis game, but he and his staff took a number of actions. In moves that aim to change the image of the players, but also in terms of mentality.

It is the Red and Whites’ intent to tighten Renti’s belts and it is no accident that wherever he is and wherever he is, the Portuguese coach says that “Nothing has been scored at the championship, the organization still has a long way to go”.

Martins, as well as François Modesto and Vassilis Torosidis, have had special conversations with the players over the past two days to wake them up to the Asteras Tripoli game and the difficult program Olympiacos has during the month.

The bad image of the red and whites in Rizoupoli was more a matter of mentality and not a lack of strength or anything else. Olympiacos have had many absences, but the Light Brigade has had more and does not have the quality and depth in the Piraeus squad. It is therefore a matter of inadequate physical and mental preparation of the coach and the players with a view to the resumption of the championship.

“New year, same feeling: we are united”

Martins was self-critical, as have the players in the last two days at the Olympiakos training facilities, where many foursome have been played and they are determined to change their face. They think they have learned their lesson and are ready to return to victories from the behind-closed-door game against Asteras Tripoli at Karaiskakis Stadium.

In fact, the Portuguese coach sent his message for the season to continue by posting it on social media accounts and writing: “New year, same feeling: we are united.” He also accompanied it with three photos, with him the world of Olympiakos and the players hugging in front of the “horseshoe” of the organized fans.

Positive developments are pending for the Martins contract extension

On this occasion there is information that there will soon be a new contact between the management of Olympiacos and Martins in order to extend their cooperation for a further two years. According to the same “sources”, the two sides are moving towards an agreement and some haven’t ruled out the possibility of developments with the 51-year-old coach ahead of El Arabi’s contract renewal.

The coach of the red-whites, however, sent his message disgusted by his statements into the camera of Novasports channels when he was asked what he now wants after his rise as the Portuguese coach with the most wins (43) for the calendar year 2021. “To achieve more victories with Olympiakos and to achieve more successes with the team year after year” he said.

So it is obvious that Martins will see himself at Olympiacos next season and with this reason he acts both in transfer and in matters of the following day for the Piraeus team.
