Marinakis on EPO: “You made major league players who laugh at you train in the mud”
Super League President Vangelis Marinakis sent a letter to the EPO about the national team’s training center, what happened with Poget and refereeing.
Vangelis Marinakis sent a letter to the EPO Executive Committee. This refers to the president of the Super League Training center for the national team, in the events with Poget, but also in the referee area.
Vangelis Marinakis’ letter states in detail: “Men’s,
On the occasion of No. 59 Meeting of the Executive Committee of the EPO I must address you once again, although I realize that the words addressed to all of you in the management of the EPO have no value.
Again, I think it is unacceptable to discuss topics that are introduced without a relevant introduction or documentation, as is the case with topics 17, 19 or 25, for example.
Unfortunately, there is no area in football that you have not degraded through your training.
We have been watching the escapades surrounding the national team for months. First, the football ticket fiasco, for which no one has been held responsible, which will see our national team face the French national team tomorrow without their key players. Then we experienced the country’s international presence through the staging of national team games in stadiums – fields that also drew disapproval from opposing footballers. And instead of asking for an apology in the face of this outcry, you asked various crazy people to ask you for change. They hosted a team game in an uncrowded stadium without a license and let footballers (who are laughing at you) who play in major European leagues train in the mud.
That’s how much you love the national team. We are in danger of going global with the training center scandal, where you once again decide what your boss tells you (Markopoulos) while there are better solutions (Elliniko).
Recently we have also been following the dispute over Mr. Poyet’s assistant, who you have not been able to pay for almost a year (!). How and under what regime was this man hired so that you cannot pay him? Is the announcement that the gentleman in question “refuses” to issue a VAT number enough to close the matter?
The only thing that interests you is to present in today’s session (secretly) in topic 6 the recruitment of Vassilis Dimitriadis as team manager of the National Team of Hope (!!!). I read in the minutes of the National Team Committee made available to us (point 8): “The National Team Committee recommends the appointment of a team manager for the National Team of Hopes.” The President of the EPO and the Executive Director are authorized to determine the level of his remuneration.” So that the President and CEO has the authority to (only) determine the level of the team manager’s salary and not also find the person, you have already found them. Are you ashamed to write the name K. Dimitriadis? What criteria was used to select him and what qualifications did he have? Were other candidates sought or considered? Probably the criterion is that he was unemployed and you need to put him somewhere, as your real boss, the owner of AEK, asked you. Another who has to make himself comfortable, as has happened before with various henchmen, lovebirds, slackers and incompetents, and others who we, as professional footballers, pay with outrageous salaries with the money we pay to the EPO.
We are asked in point 19 to discuss and make a decision as an Executive Committee about the recognition or non-candidacy of Member No. 11 of the statutes. Who is this member? There is no relevant suggestion. Was it prepared in advance by the legal service? Is there a relevant suggestion? Do we know what its statute is, whether it meets the conditions of the law as it was established? There is no update. At the same time, we as an association and as members of the Executive Committee are threatened with lawsuits from another union that has to register as a member of the EPA due to court decisions that the association refuses to implement.
You invite us to discuss “Restructuring of the EPO Standing Committees” as topic 21. They obviously refer to the recycling of people, since these committees are nothing more than the sum of their members, as the Executive Committee threatens to become. The phenomena of operating with decorative terms and total disregard for the statute or laws are continuous and repetitive. That’s why you insist on working without company rules, that’s why there are no company rules and no standing committees. Therefore, do not inform the responsible Minister of Sports about the regulations issued by the Association, as required by Law 2725/1999, which should have already led to the dismissal of the Executive Committee, but the relevant bodies of the GGA and the Governance Control Committee and the Compliance Department of the EPA probably have more serious things to do than complying with the laws of the Greek state.
You bring up “KED problems” again as topic 25 for discussion without giving the slightest hint about it. What are these topics? Is it about professional football? And if so, did you bring it up for discussion with the Professional Football Commission and when? Unless the purpose and goal of these matters are personal “arrangements”.
A few days ago the business of the current referee, Mr. A. Gamaris, was burned down with an arson device. Furthermore, a few days ago, former referee Mr. G. Kominis publicly stated in an interview that he received threats against his pregnant wife after a certain match that he refereed not too many years ago, even while he was still active was a referee. That is, a threatened referee was and was still officiating league games.
In view of these phenomena, the new chief referee (?) K. Freudfeld still walks with the caravan instead of taking command. And the EPA is content with press releases and its president, as always, whistles indifferently.
There is nothing you can do without leading football into humiliation. But you, they are: so small and so submissive. And that’s how you’ll stay
The responsibility and complicity in the dramatic events in Greek football now lies equally with the non-existent and disappeared government, which unfortunately is not indifferent: it is obvious that this situation and the tolerance associated with it are their own wish.
The country’s government does not want a purge of Greek football because it serves them and their friends. That’s why he chose an invisible sports minister as the responsible sports minister, who neither had nor has nor will develop a relationship with sport and will not contribute anything to it.
Finally, for my part, I reserve all legal rights of the cooperative against any decision that contradicts the provisions of the law and the statutes and could harm the interests of Superliga 1.
The President of Super League 1
