Almeida’s surprise with a street named after him and his epic reaction
Matias Almeida was named the best coach of last season and when he took the stage a special surprise awaited him.
The PSAPP chose last season’s best and fairest at its 42nd celebration. AEK coach Matias Almeida was named best coach last season.
As he climbed the step and after his step, a surprise awaited him. Demis Nikolaidis, who moderated the event, presented the AEK coach with a street that also bears his name (it is a synonym).
“Should you move to Athens and stay at AEK for many years?” asked Nikolaidis, and the Union technician replied: “I want the key to the house” and to continue: “I’m very happy in Greece, that’s what football offers me, meeting people from all cultures.”
In football, a ball can unite different social classes, cultures and economic classes. It makes us all better. Long live football.
