Konstantinidis: “Festivals only last one night”
Razvan Loutsescu’s partner, Pantelis Konstantinidis, pointed to the maturity that the PAOK players should show against Lamia today
Pantelis Konstantinidis spoke to NOVA about PAOK’s game against Lamia (April 12, 6:00 p.m., Novasports Prime, live from Sportish) in Toumba.
Razvan Lucescu’s close aide expressed the Dikefalo coaching staff’s satisfaction with the players’ response to their coach’s wishes and the maturity they must show in league play after a major European success.
What Constantinidis said in detail:
“As we always say, joy and celebration are only allowed for the night after the game, the next day we all have to forget everything because that’s the only way to move forward, stay competitive and look forward so that things don’t get unpleasant.” Surprises in the coming games. You just keep the positive, the good psychology and the good vibes, and you go from there.”
What he remembers most about the Eintracht victory: “It’s all the elements that we have at Eintracht. We played well, we looked at the opponent as we should and all of that brought us the win.”
The biggest advantage: “It’s the confidence that the team gets, the boys react and play what the coach asks of them, but by the next game they will play even better.”
On the rebirth of Thomas Murg: “He is very focused, self-confident and is training even better than last year. He understood the coach’s philosophy very well and it is no surprise to us that Thomas is an excellent footballer and responds 100% to the coach’s wishes. We are very satisfied.”
On transitioning from a great European night to a league game: “It is not an easy task, we can say that we forget about it and move on to the next games, but it requires great seriousness from everyone to convey to the players the message that equally difficult games lie ahead.
He wants maturity and seriousness from everyone, especially from our footballers. The children have responded brilliantly so far.”
Regarding the change of players in the eleven, which does not change the image of PAOK: “It is very important that we change the players and that the image does not change. We select the best players who we think fit the game to help the team win. It is not necessary to change players from game to game, this will be judged primarily by the picture of the training sessions.”
If you are happy with the picture in the league: “You always want something better, but overall we’ve done it and we’re doing well. We are never completely satisfied.”
For Lamia: “They are a very well-organized team and high up in the table, they have experienced players who play good football, they create, they score like Atromitos, who scored three goals, they want attention.”
If the game approach concerns PAOK or the opponent: “The most important thing is our team and their approach to the games. Of course, when you develop a tactic, you also see your opponent. But the most important thing for us is our own team.”
For the coming week with three games: “We certainly have other games in mind, but we’re focused on the next one. “It gives us great satisfaction that almost all of the children have played so far. The many games don’t bother us because we have the appropriate depth in the squad to be able to react to them.”
